07 Fees & Medicare

Transparent pricing.

Most pathology tests are bulk billed by Australian Clinical Labs when requested by your GP. Some specialty tests (vitamin levels outside Medicare criteria, food intolerance panels, complex genetic testing) may attract a private fee. The Medicare Benefits Schedule changes occasionally; your GP will inform you if a test you've requested isn't covered.

08 Questions, answered

Common questions.

Do I need an appointment?
Walk-ins are welcome for routine tests during ACL operating hours. Fasting tests, glucose tolerance tests and complex tests should be pre-booked.
What are pathology hours?
Pathology operates Monday–Friday 9am–3pm and Saturday 9am–12pm. Closed on public holidays.
Do I need to fast?
Some tests require fasting (cholesterol, glucose). Your GP will tell you which. Generally fast for 10–12 hours before the test — water is fine.
